Our Mission:

The mission of the Hood Canal School District Athletic Program is to inspire every student to achieve their highest potential. We accomplish this by offering a comprehensive athletic program that focuses on:

  • Lifelong Learning: Encouraging the development of skills and knowledge that benefit students throughout their lives.

  • Skill Development: Providing training and practice to enhance athletic abilities and personal growth.

  • Sportsmanship: Promoting ethical conduct, fair play, and respect for all participants.

  • Commitment: Fostering a strong sense of dedication to the school, the team, and fellow students.

We ensure our program is grounded in open communication and mutual respect among school administration, staff, coaches, student-athletes, parents, community members, and officials. Our athletics serve as a positive, productive, and integral part of our school community and, most importantly, our students' lives.

Core Values:

Hood Canal School Athletics promotes:

  • PRIDE: Taking pride in our school, our teams, and our achievements.

  • COURAGE: Facing challenges with bravery and determination.

  • TRADITION: Upholding the rich traditions of our school and athletic programs.

We firmly believe in the philosophy of being students first and athletes second, ensuring academic and personal development remains a top priority.

Athletic Code of Conduct

It is a goal of our school and the TCAA to have an excellent community, school and athletic program which we can be proud.  As a student athlete and representative of Hood Canal School athletes are asked to read and agree to the following guidelines.

  1. I will be on time and prepared for practice and games.

  2. As a member of the team I will be courteous, respectful and practice good sportsmanship to teammates, opponents, teachers/coaches and officials.

  3. I understand that it is a privilege to represent my school and proper behaviors required in class, practice, and athletic contests.

  4. I will use appropriate language at all times.

  5. I understand that good sportsmanship is a must.  Criticizing, blaming or disputing with my teammates, coaches, opponents or referees is not acceptable.

  6. I will be respectful of other schools’ staff members and facilities.

  7. I will be alcohol, drug and tobacco free.

  8. I understand that commitment to practice and games is required.  I will communicate any scheduling conflicts with my coaches.

  9. I understand that all team members are required to support their team for the entire contest.

Being a student athlete requires more than being a team member.  It often causes demands that may require personal sacrifices. Being a team member is a privilege.  If an individual student athlete is willing to put the needed effort into athletics, he/she will be rewarded for those efforts.
