Our Vision and Mission

OUR VISION: We bring learning to life, helping every student grow, discover their unique strengths, and confidently create the future they choose.

OUR MISSION: We empower every Hood Canal student with the academic, social, and emotional skills essential for success. Rooted in the strength and beauty of our community, we create a safe, welcoming space where each student knows they belong. Through hands-on, real-world learning, we ignite their passions and help them form meaningful connections with one another and the world around them.

Our Core Values

Community and Connection: We are all about creating a school where everyone is welcome and valued. By building trust and strong relationships with our students, families, staff, the Skokomish Tribe, and our neighbors, we help everyone know that they matter and can succeed together.

Excellence in Learning: Learning at Hood Canal is hands-on, sparking curiosity and the confidence to take on challenges. By setting high expectations and linking learning to real-life experiences, we help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, preparing them for the future.

Inclusivity and Safety: Hood Canal School is a place where everyone feels safe and welcome. We honor each individuals’ background and culture, making sure every student is supported in achieving their full potential.

Respect and Responsibility: We teach students to be honest, respectful, and responsible. By modeling and practicing these values together, we help them grow into caring, dependable people who make a positive difference in their school and community.
