Volunteers

Volunteer at Hood Canal School

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Hood Canal School District! We greatly value family and community involvement and are excited to welcome you into our school community.

Volunteers Needed!

Do you have extra time and a love for working with kids? We have various opportunities for you to get involved. Here are a few examples:

  • Playground Supervision

  • Classroom Assistant

  • Nurse's Office Helper

  • Field Trip Chaperones

  • School Event Support

Volunteer Responsibilities

To ensure the safety and security of our students, every school volunteer must:

  1. Complete a Volunteer Disclosure Form

  2. Pass a background check each school year

  3. Make prior arrangements to volunteer

  4. Sign in and out of the office

  5. Wear a volunteer badge

  6. Honor student confidentiality based on what they hear, see, or learn while volunteering

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact your student's teacher, stop by our Front Office, or print and complete our volunteer pack, which includes the required forms:

Please submit the packet as soon as possible since background checks do take time to complete.

Your time and effort make a significant difference in our students' lives, and we appreciate your commitment to their education and well-being.

Family Involvement

Family members are always welcome at Hood Canal. You can serve as a prearranged volunteer in classrooms , visit for lunch with your student, and attend various school events and assemblies. Please note that classroom observations must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance through the building principal. To ensure the safety and security of our students, all visitors must sign in at the office and pick up a visitor's badge.

Family Teacher Organization (FTO)

We encourage parents to join the FTO to help students build community, and support school events. Get involved today! Please contact at email: ORCAFTO@hoodcanalschool.org or visit the FTO Facebook Page.

We look forward to having you join our team of dedicated volunteers!
