Attention 8th-Grade Families! 🚀 We have several important events to help our students transition smoothly to high school. Mark your calendars!
✅ Wednesday, February 5 – Shelton School District representatives visited to discuss what to expect in high school.
✅ Friday, February 7 – Shelton NJROTC visited Hood Canal to share information about their leadership and teamwork program.
✅ Wednesday, February 12 – Shelton SD reps will return to work one-on-one with students to complete their high school registration paperwork. Students received registration packets that must be returned by February 12. Those who scored a Level 3 or 4 on their last Smarter Balanced assessment have been placed in advanced History and Science courses. If you’d like to opt out, request a form. If your student wants an advanced course, simply select the appropriate box on the registration form. Remember: 15 total course boxes for freshman year!
✅ Thursday, February 13 – Shelton High School Parent Night at the Performing Arts Center at 6:00 PM. Parents and students are encouraged to attend to learn more about high school expectations, course options, and available resources.
✅ Thursday, February 27 – High School Tours from 9:15 AM to 12:20 PM.
🚀 More Exciting Opportunities Coming Soon!
We are planning visits to a local university, community college, and trade school to give students a broader view of their post-high school options. Stay tuned!
These events are designed to make the transition to high school as smooth as possible. We encourage all 8th graders and their families to participate! 🎉
