Today, we were thrilled to receive 436 fleece beanies lovingly made by the talented members of the local Hood Canal Kiwanis sewing club, the Thread Slingers! These beanies will keep our Hood Canal students warm this winter and are a beautiful reminder of the power of community care. Thank you, Kiwanis!
A heartfelt thank you also to the Shelton Senior Activity Center for donating enough fleece to sew 40 beanies, a generous Thread Slingers member who donated the remaining fleece to complete the project, and Saint Germain’s for providing the space for the club’s weekly sewing sessions.

🚍 We’re excited to announce that Bus Route 207 has been restored starting today! 🎉 Thank you for your patience and understanding as we had to combine Routes 207 and 214 while we worked to hire a new driver. These are now separate routes again.

Hood Canal School District is inviting applications for individuals interested in serving on committees to draft the for and against statements for the Mason County Local Voters’ Pamphlet regarding the District’s levy ballot measures. These measures will be considered in the upcoming election on February 11, 2025.

Our 3rd grade detectives-in-training took on The CSI Case of the Super Bad Math Superhero! 🦸♂️🚨 Students solved tricky multiplication problems to uncover clues about the identity of Math-hattan’s superhero gone bad.
Using their math skills, they eliminated suspects, cracked secret codes, and tracked down the villain in a thrilling mystery. The excitement was off the charts, and their teamwork and problem-solving were super impressive!

📢 Important Update: State Route 106 in Mason County is closed in both directions along Hood Canal due to a landslide. We’re working to adjust our afternoon bus routes as needed and will communicate any changes directly to families. Please plan for potential delays and allow extra time for travel.

Our Hood Canal Builders Club has been hard at work making a difference in our community! Since last week, these amazing students have been running a food drive to support the Hood Canal Food Bank. Today, they took their efforts even further by volunteering at the food bank, helping hand out food to local families.

🌊🌲 Our 5th graders had an amazing time at Lake Crescent. They started with a canoe ride around the lake, using an echosounder to measure the depth of the water at various points and estimating how deep it was as they moved further from the shore. 🛶📏
Afterward, they enjoyed a peaceful story time after lunch, soaking in the natural beauty of their surroundings. 📖✨
The day also included some fun team-building activities, where students worked together, strengthened friendships, and demonstrated their awesome collaboration skills. 🤝💪
